Reservations
Questions

WHAT ARE RESERVATIONS?

You build up different reservations. Such as holidays, holiday money, short-term absenteeism and public holidays. You build up vacation days to take vacation, as soon as you do this you can ask us to pay this out, simply put you can take paid vacation. Holiday money is money that you can spend on a holiday. Everyone in the Netherlands is entitled to a holiday. This money will be paid out at the end of May/beginning of June. You get Short Absenteeism if you visit the doctor or dentist, for example, and you can have Holidays paid out on national holidays such as Christmas or Easter.

HOW MANY HOLIDAYS DO YOU GET PER YEAR?

You accrue paid vacation days; an amount is reserved for you for every hour worked. If you work 40 hours a week throughout the year, you are entitled to 25 vacation days on an annual basis. If you work less, you are entitled to a proportional share of vacation days. Because holiday workers work shorter hours, they are entitled to a proportionate share of the statutory minimum number of 20 holiday days per year.

HOW DO I REQUEST MY HOLIDAYS?

You can request days off or vacation directly from the employer where you work or via service@opus-uzb.nl. If the application has already been submitted to the employer, please let us know. You will be paid for these day(s) if you have saved enough for that. If you have not saved enough, we can only pay out the saved amount.

CAN I ALSO HAVE MY HOLIDAYS PAYED WITHOUT HAVE BEEN OFF?

No this is not possible. Only when there is a non-work day.

WHEN WILL I GET PAID FOR MY RESERVATIONS IF I STOP WORKING?

At the end of your employment you can request payment of your reservations. If you do not do this, the accrued amount will be automatically transferred to you after six weeks. So you always get it.

ARE PUBLIC HOLIDAYS ALWAYS PAID?

That depends on how long you have been working for OPUS. works. You have only been working at OPUS for a very short time, then you have hardly saved anything on public holidays and you are not entitled to a paid public holiday or you were partially paid for it. If you have saved up for public holidays for quite some time, you will receive this payment on a public holiday on which you do not work.
