New at Opus Recruitment: meet Mohammed Anahass
Mohammed Anahass joined the Opus Recruitment team as a recruiter a month ago. His main focus is on the logistics and production sectors in the Boskoop and Waddinxveen area, where Opus fills vacancies for many companies.
From commercial studies to recruitment
Recruitment is a completely new direction for Mohammed. During his commercial studies, he regularly came into contact with recruitment consultants, which gave him some insight into the profession.
“What appealed to me most was the contact with different people and companies, as well as the commercial side of recruitment,” Mohammed explains.
He was already familiar with Opus Recruitment as a well-known name in the area. “This was actually the first recruitment agency that really appealed to me because of its broad approach across logistics, production and the agricultural sector. It therefore felt like a great opportunity to learn the profession at an organisation from my own region.”
His approach: listen first, then find the right match
“For me, it starts with listening carefully to the candidate,” Mohammed says about his way of working. “First, I try to get a clear picture of someone: what kind of person are they, what work experience and education do they have and, most importantly, what are they looking for in a new job?”
Only then does he look at the companies and vacancies that are available. “It is not just about the experience on someone’s CV. Their personality, preferences and way of working also need to fit the company. Based on that, I try to make a good match.”
Why logistics and production
Mohammed currently focuses mainly on logistics and production. “There are many companies operating in these sectors in the Boskoop and Waddinxveen area, which means there are also many different vacancies.”
What appeals to him is precisely this variety. “One candidate might be looking for an active job in a warehouse, while someone else may be more technically minded or enjoy working with machines. This means you speak to different types of people and work on different kinds of vacancies.”
Especially now that he is new to recruitment, he sees this as a good way to get to know many different companies, positions and candidates.
Honesty as a starting point
“For me, honesty, transparency and keeping your promises are the most important things,” Mohammed says about his contact with candidates and clients. “That applies to both sides. If a candidate or client clearly explains what they are looking for and what is or isn’t possible, you can respond to that much better.”
“That is why I also try to communicate clearly and avoid creating expectations that I cannot meet. Ultimately, a partnership works best when everyone knows where they stand.”
Where he wants to go
“Because recruitment is still new to me, I mainly want to gain as much experience as possible in the coming period,” Mohammed says about his plans. “I want to speak to as many candidates as possible, get to know companies and positions better and continue developing myself as a recruiter.”
“Ultimately, I want to become better and better at making the right match. The best result is, of course, helping a candidate find a job where they truly feel at home, while at the same time helping a company find someone who fits well within the team.”
